As one of the hottest travel destination and one of the most important large cities in northwestern China, Xian has quite convenient transportation in air, train, and road.

Air

The Xian Xianyang International Airport which is located 41 kilometers northwest of Xian city center provides air services. The airport is the largest airport in northwestern China and also the fifth largest airport in China. Xian Xiangxiang International Airport has opened 202 air lines currently, among which there are 11 international air lines with direct flights to cities like Bangkok, Singapore, and Seoul.


Train

Xian provides very convenient railway service with its four railway stations, including Xian Railway Station, Xian North Railway Station, Xian East Railway Station, and Xian West Railway Station. The Xian Railway Station is a transportation hub in northwestern China and there are trains to almost all provinces in China.

For tourists wanting to take high-speed trains should go to Xian North Railway Station. High-speed trains to cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Luoyang, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Nanjing and several other cities are available. Tourists should note that tickets for high-speed trains from Xian to Beijing, Shanghai, Luoyang, and Zhengzhou are very popular, and tourists should buy in advance especially in holidays.

Road

The three China national highways which running through Xian connect Xian to cities in Shaanxi Province and long distance buses to some cities in neighboring provinces are also available. Tourists have much choices for buses to Mount Hua and other famous scenic spots around Xian or in Shaanxi Province.
