Arrival in Beijing

Your Beijing exploration will begin with visit to Tiananmen Square. As the largest public square in the world, Tiananmen Square can hold over one million people. This famous monument with its great historical significance is often considered as a national symbol in China.

Next we will proceed to the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City, also called Imperial Museum, was the imperial palace for emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties. As the best-preserved imperial palace in China and the largest ancient palatial structure in the world, Forbidden City with the magnificence of royal architectures and imperial treasures is a must-visit attraction in Beijing.

Then we will go for a great time by rickshaw riding at Hutong Area. Hutongs are alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan, which are the traditional courtyard residences. As an important cultural element of old Beijing, Hutongs have been great choices for people to get to know Beijing local history and culture. And a rickshaw riding among Hutongs is a unique way to get deep into the local culture and life in Hutongs.

Afterwards, our guide will bring you to visit Temple of Heaven. It was firstly built in the year of 1420 and has a long history now. Temple of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing, which was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. Its grand size of architectures and profound cultural connotation make Temple of Heaven a must-see attraction in Beijing.

Afterwards, we will enjoy Kungfu Show at Red Theater. This should a great chance to learn about China’s unique Kungfu culture. After the show, our guide will bring you back to hotel.

Your Beijing sightseeing will go on and our guide will bring you to visit the Badaling Great Wall. As a symbol of Chinese civilization, the Great Wall is a must-visit attraction when travel to China. Built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Badaling Great Wall is the most well-preserved and the most visited section of the Great Wall of China. The winding wall on the steep mountain range with its solid construction and beautiful natural environment will surely amaze you.

Then you will have a stop at a jade shop. After that, our guide will transfer you back to downtown Beijing and take you to visit the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace is the largest and the most well-preserved royal park in China. Mainly occupied by Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, the Summer Palace is a harmonious ensemble of artificial features of pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges, and natural features of trees, hills and waters. Its high value in imperial landscape garden in the aspects of aesthetic and architecture will surely enchant you.

Beijing-Dunhuang by flight

Dunhuang Yadan National Geology Park,Yumen Pass,Devil City, remains of Han Dynasty Great Wall

After breakfast, our guide will bring you to the airport and you will take flight to Dunhuang. Our guide at Dunhuang will pick you up at the airport and then take you directly to visit Yumen Pass. Yumen Pass, also called the Jade Gate Pass, is located some 90 kilometers northwest of Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. Together with Yangguan Pass, it is the main pass by which ancient China was connected to the Silk Road. It was established twice separately in the Han and Tang Dynasties. The current Yumen Pass is the remains of the one built in the Tang Dynasty. Yumen Pass witnessed the economic and cultural exchanges between China and the west. At present, the Yumen Pass site consists of a small square castle.

After that we will proceed to visit Dunhuang Yadan National Geologic Park. Situated 180 kilometers in the northwest away from Dunhuang City, the Dunhuang Yadan National Geologic Park is the largest one of Yadan Landform found so far. The park stretches twenty-five kilometers from north to south and about two kilometers from east to west. It features the unique and wonderful scenes and landscapes of the gobi desert.

Next we will move on to see Devil City. The Yadan Devil City is located 90 kilometers away from Dunhuang. The Devil City has the featured Yadan landform scenery of ridges and grooves which are created by years of wind erosion. As the city locates in the wind gap, when storm comes across the whole area becomes dark and dusty, and you will hear sad and thrill whistling sound coming from the city. This is how it gets its name.

Afterwards, our guide will bring you to see the remains of the remains of Han Dynasty Great Wall. This Han Dynasty Great Wall refers to the remains of the Great Wall which was built in Han Dynasty (206BC - 220), which is more than 1,000 years earlier than the Ming’s Great Wall.

Dunhuang

After breakfast, your Dunhuang exploration will continue with visit to Mogao Caves. The Mogao Grottoes, also named “Thousands Buddha Caves”, is regarded as the most valuable discovery in 20th century. It is known as the “Louvre of East”, which is outstanding for its exquisite mural paintings and statues. There are now 492 grottoes in which about 45000 square meters mural paintings and 2100 colorfully painted statues have been preserved very well. The history of Mogao Grottoes can be traced back to the “Five Hu-16 Kingdoms” period (CD304-439). Mogao Grottoes was constructed by the Prior Qin, and the subsequent dynasties rebuilt and enlarged the scope year by year. In the splendid caves, you will learn much about the evolution of China’s history.

Then we will head for the sightseeing of Crescent Spring. The Crescent Spring is located 5 kilometers southwest of Dunhuang and is famous as one of the “Eight Scenes of Dunhuang”. It is also known as the “first lake in the desert”. Surrounded by sand mountains, the Crescent Spring has a beautiful oasis with traditional Chinese architecture.

Afterwards, we will have a great time at the Echoing Sand Mountain. Echoing Sand Mountain is a famous scenic spots in Dunhuang. With the pale golden color, these dunes are huge and some measures about hundred meters while most of them are rather stable in shape though the dunes shift recurrently. When breezes come, the sand produces gentle and dulcet sounds just like beautiful music. This is how the mountain gets its name. You will have the opportunity to ride a camel for some amazing experiences.

After dinner, our guide will bring you back to the hotel for a good rest.

Dunhuang-Xian

After breakfast, our guide will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Xian. Our guide at Xian will meet you at the airport and then get you started the amazing Xian tour.

The first attraction to see in Xian will be the Ancient City Wall. It is a famous landmark in Xian. The City Wall is the largest and best preserved Ming Dynasty city wall. Visiting the City Wall, you can not only learn city construction and architectural arts in ancient times. Also you can get some good views of Xian city.

Then we will proceed to the Bell and Drum Tower Square, where you will see the Bell Tower and Drum Tower. They are symbols of Xian. Built in the ancient Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Bell Tower and Drum Tower have thousands of years’ history with historical and cultural significance.

Next we will move on for the sightseeing at the Muslim Street. The Muslim Street is a renowned Muslim community in Xian. At Muslim Street, you will not only taste numerous delicious local Xian snacks and Muslim food, also you will experience the strong Muslim atmosphere and their lives there.

Today your Xian tour will continue and our gudie will bring you to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses at first. Reputed as the World’s Eighth Great Wonder, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century. You will see a large number of collections of life-size terracotta soldiers and horses with different facial expressions and postures, ancient weapons and chariots made 2,000 years ago arranged in the battle formations. These terracotta soldiers and horses are great examples to learn the ancient history and culture of the Qin Dynasty.

Next we will head to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a famous Buddhist pagoda in Xian which was built in the Tang Dynasty. Built with traditional Chinese architectural characteristics and profound Buddhist culture connotation, you will o admire Buddhist Religion culture and its attractive architecture when visiting there.

Afterwards, our guide will bring you too visit the Shaanxi History Museum. It is one of the first huge state museums with modern facilities in China. Huangshan

After breakfast, our guide will help you check out and deposit your suitcases in the hotel. Take your valuable belongings and then drive along Huangshan Expressway to Huangshan Scenic Area for about 1.5 hourse. Next get off the expressway from the exit No. 299 at Tangkou Township and change for the local green bus. Continue to drive for about 15 minutes along the zigzag mountain road before you get to the bus station at Yungu. Here you will start the great sightseeing at the Mt. Huangshan.

As one of the renowned tourist destinations and an UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mt. Huangshan has drawn numerous tourists for its enchanting scenery. Characterized with alluring scenery, beautiful sunsets and sunrises, peculiarly shaped granite peaks, Mt. Huangshan Pine trees, hot springs, winter snow, and views of the clouds, Mt. Huangshan is bestowed with rich sites to appreciate as well as spectaculars for photography.

Huangshan-Tunxi

Get up earlier at around 5:30AM to see the spectacular sunrise of Mt. Huangshan. Take your flashlight and hike down about 500 meters to Dawn Pavilion, which is the best place to appreciate the dawn and twilight in Mt. Huangshan. If you are lucky, you will catch the first sun light. But the sunrise is blocked by Shixin Peak. Maybe that's why it is called "Dawn Pavilion" instead of "Sunrise Pavilion".

After Lunch, have a 2 kilometers' walking back to White Goose Telpher Station and take the cable car down the mountain. Take the green bus back to Tangkou Township where you will be arranged to change for your car or van back to your hotel in Tunxi.

Then our guide will bring you to visit Huizhou Culture Museum. The Huizhou Culture Museum is the only one museum that themed at Hui culture in China and is the second largest museum in Anhui Province. The museum is a classic Hui-styled building with three stories. Huizhou Culture Museum has a rich collection and exhibition of ancient ceramics and pottery, paintings, calligraphy, carvings, ancient books and many other antiques related to Huizhou. You will get the great chance to learn about the history and the unique Hui culture at this museum.

Next you will go for a great time at Tunxi Ancient Street. Tunxi Ancient Street is one of the famous historical and cultural streets in China. It is located in Tunxi District of Huangshan City. The street is the best well-preserved street that is outstanding featured with Southern Song, Ming and Qing dynasties styles. The Dunxi Ancient Street consists of one straight street, three horizontal street and 18 small lanes. The whole street is lined with more than 300 Hui-styled ancient buildings with white walls, gray tiles and flagstones. Along the street there lays numerous ancient stores selling traditional curios and handicrafts, such as brush calligraphy, ink painting and woodcarving. To enjoy the ancient Hui-styled architectures, experience ancient Hui culture, and discover interesting precious curios and artworks are what to do at Tunxi Ancient Street.

Tunxi -Shanghai

Hongcun is situated in the south of Mount Huangshan and northwest of Qian County. It is only 11 kilometers away from Qian County center. At first, it was known to people because of the famous movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Now, it is well-known because of its beautiful scenery, cultural values and exquisite houses. Buildings in Hongcun are characterized with Hui-styled features. They pay highly attention to decorations and carvings, there are delicate and exquisite wooden carvings, brick carvings and stone carvings lay in the houses. Houses are well-layout in unique order to intersect with the beautiful and pleasant landscapes of lakes and streams, making Hongcun a vivid ink painting.

Your sightseeing of Shanghai will begin with Yuyuan Garden. As a famous classical garden in Shanghai, Yuyuan Garden attracts people by compact and exquisite layout, and natural features of rocks, pavilions, ornamental ponds and flower walls.

Next we will move to visit Chenghuangmiao Temple. Chenghuang Temple is a famous Taoist temple in Shanghai. This ancient temple with its long history and profound religious background is a hot temple for people to worship and pray. Also there are over a hundred stores and shops selling different kinds of items in this area, and most of these store buildings are nearly a century old.

Free strolling and shopping at Xintiandi will be arranged for the next activity. The Xintiandi is a popular shopping and entertainment center in Shanghai.
