This morning, our guide will pick you up and drive to Ningxia for an experience of Muslim culture and life. Ningxia is the provincial capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and over half of the population of this city is Muslims. Deeply influenced by Islamic culture and customs, Ningxia is a great place to get a close look at Muslim culture and life. Mosques, Muslims communities and Muslim bazaars are commonly seen in Ningxia. Today we will visit mosques, Madrasahs, local Muslim families, Muslim communities and bazaars.

Afterward, our guide will transfer you to the hotel for check in.

Ningxia-Lanzhou

After breakfast at the hotel, our guide will drive you to Lanzhou and we will start our Lanzhou tour immediately. The first destination will be Xiguan Mosque. The mosque was constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Architectures of the Xiguan Mosque are of strong Islamic styles but have also combined Chinese traditional art. Xiguan Mosque is an important place for local Lanzhou Muslims to do prayers and attend religious activities.

The next scheduled destination will be Waterwheel Park. The park is located along Yellow River. Waterwheel Park is consisted of two waterwheels, a cofferdam, the recreation area and a house of water mill. The two traditional waterwheels are the main attraction in the park. They were used to irrigate farmlands around Lanzhou and now they are historical exhibitions in the park.

Then we will proceed to visit Gansu Provincial Museum. It is the largest museum in Gansu Province. Housing a collection of historical and cultural relics, like color-painted potteries, ancient grottoes, linen and silk products, books, wooden and bronze vessels, fresco's and so many other items, Gansu Provincial Museum is a great place to get to know the history and culture of Gansu and Silk Road. Among its treasures, the most famous one is the world-famous bronze Galloping Horse's Hoof Stepped on a Flying Swallow.

At the end of the day, our guide will transfer you back to the hotel and you can have a good rest.
