Today, your exploration of Xian will focus on a visit to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, which is dubbed as “World’s Eighth Great Wonder”. Those artifacts of numerous life size terracotta figures of warriors and horses with different features, facial expressions, clothing and hairstyles arranged in battle formations provide live examples to study the military, cultural and economic of the period they were made.
Then we will proceed to visit the Great Mosque. It is one of the oldest and largest mosques in Xian. Famed for its long history and unique architecture which is a combination of Islamic and traditional Chinese style, Great Mosque is a popular attraction for tourists coming to Xian.
Next we will have a free strolling at Muslim Street. It is a renowned Muslim community in Xian. At Muslim Street, you will not only taste numerous delicious local Xian snacks and Muslim food, also you will experience the strong Muslim atmosphere and their lives there.
After dinner, our guide will transfer you back to the hotel.

Xian to Urumqi by Flight

Upon arrival you will be transferred to visit Xinjiang Regional Museum and Red Hill Park.
Xinjiang Regional Museum: Xinjiang Regional Museum presents a wonderful collection of items from Xinjiang Urgur Autonomous Region as well as items from other areas along the ancient Silk Road.
Red Hill Park: The Red Hill stands magnificently at the center of Urumqi City. At sunrise and sunset, the hill looks red as it reflects the red light from the sun, so it was named the Red Hill.

Urumqi to Heavenly Lake

This morning, we will visit Heavenly Lake. This crescent-shaped lake deserves its name, Pearl of Heavenly Mountain (Tianshan Mountain). With melted snow as its source, Heavenly Lake enjoys crystal water.
And then enjoy a leisurely walk at International Bazha. In Xinjiang, the "big Bazha" has the meaning of market; and the international Bazha, took the fall Urumqi Erdaoqiao region, but also in Urumqi Uighur ethnic characteristics of the market the most. An area of n early 10 million square meters of large Bazha, the square is the towering Islamic central tower, the market added some exotic flavor. Stalls within the market mostly selling traditional features with national handicrafts, local products, Uygur hat, handmade jewelry, knives, carpets etc.

Urumqi to Turpan by Coach (2.5 hours)

Today, we will drive to Turpan (2.5 hrs) and proceed to Flaming Mountain which is at the north fringe of the Turpan Basin. It was called Red Rock Mountain for the dark red sandstone dominating the area. Many years of volcanic activity have formed the unique crisscrossing gullies and ravines. During mid-afternoon the heat becomes intense as the sun's rays are reflected off the red rocks, as though the hillsides are engulfed by tongues of fire, hence the name. The foot of the mountain offers a great contrast to the barren, lifeless mountain, where the Grape Gully are located. These gullies are lush cultivated areas with greenery, flowing rivers. When autumn comes, these regions feature sweet fruits and ripe melons.
Then, we will visit Xinjiang’s irrigation system, Karez. In the boundless desolate Gobi desert stand the ruins of the ancient city of Gaochang, shining like a resplendent precious stone inlaid in the barren desert and shining on the Silk Road. Gaochang is located at the foot of the Flaming Mountain. Withstanding the test of time and weather, the ancient city of Gaochang are the best-preserved ruins of the ancient cities in China. Then, we visit to Su Minaret the largest extant old tower in Xinjiang; it is the only Islamic tower among the hundred famous towers in China. Su Minaret was built in 1777 in honor of the heroic Turpan general, Emin Khoja. He was an outstanding patriot who defended the unification of China throughout his life. Tonight, we will enjoy the Uighur ethic minority cultural performance with whole roast lamb dinner.

Turpan to Liuyuan by High-speed Train (4 hrs) to Dunhuang by Coach (1 hour)

This morning, you will travel to Liu Yuan by high speed train (D2704, 1032 – 1429 hrs). On arrival, coach about 1 hour to Dunhuang, which lies at the western end of the Gansu Corridor, called Hexi Zoulang. The name Dunhuang originally meant "prospering, flourishing"-- a hint that Dunhuang must once have been an important city. Then We proceed to Mingsha Sand Dune and experience a Camel Ride.
You can enjoy the beautiful wavy shapes of the smooth yellow dunes against the deep blue sky, and imagine you are traveling the ancient Silk Road. Step off the camel and listen for the singing of the sand. There is archery and sand sledging available on one of the dunes. Crescent Moon Spring is a must-see sight. The contrast of the blue Crescent Lake and lush vegetation with the golden sand is quite poetic. And Riding Camel.

Dunhuang to Jiayuguan ( 5 hours) to Jiuquan by coach (0.5 hour)

This morning, we will proceed for our tour highlight of Mogao Grottoes, also known as "the Thousand Buddha Caves", and praised as "a glittering pearl that adorns the Silk Road", are the most famous Buddhist grottoes in China. Drive to Jiayuanguan to visit the Jiayuanguan Pass represents the western starting point of a section of the Great Wall constructed during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The pass covers an area of 33,500 square meters (eight acres) and lies at the base of a narrow valley, and takes its name from one of the surrounding hills, the Jiayu. Commonly referred to as the finest example of its kind on earth, the pass is the best preserved of the Great Wall's ancient military fortresses.

This morning, transfer about 3 hours to Zhangye, visit Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park (with tram ride) refers to various landscapes found in southeast and southwest China that "consist of a red bed characterized by steep cliffs". It is a unique type of petrographic geomorphology found in China. Danxia landform is formed from red-coloured sandstones and conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age.
The landforms look very much like karst topography that forms in areas underlain by limestones, but since the rocks that form danxia are sandstones and conglomerates, they have been called "pseudo-karst" landforms. After tour, check-in hotel.

This morning, we will visit Giant Buddha Temple with the religion hall built in Western Xia (1038-1227), the largest indoor reclining Buddha in Asia and the written Golden Sutra in Ming Dynasty etc, this Buddha temple is regarded as one of the most famous Buddha temples in northwest. The existing Giant Buddha Temple is made up of the Giant Buddha Hall, Sutra Collection Pavilion and a Clay Pagoda.
And then transfer to Lanzhou, which is used to be a key point connecting the central China and the western region as well as a vital city on the Silk Road. Today, Lanzhou is a hub of the Silk Road. Enjoy a leisurely walk at the Waterwheel Garden, the garden is comprised of two waterwheels, a cofferdam, the recreation area and a house of water mill. Photo stop at Mother River Statue. Visit Zhongshan Bridge before proceed for dinner. Zhongshan Bridge, also called the first bridge over the Yellow River, lies at the foot of Bai Ta Mountain and in front of Jin Cheng Pass in Lanzhou city, the capital of Gansu Province.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda: Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Xian. It is located in the compound of the Daci’en Temple in the southern suburbs of Xian. With its magnificent architecture and being a well-preserved Buddhist pagoda, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is considered a landmark of Xian and is a must-see site for tourists visiting Xian.
Xian Ancient City Wall: The Ancient City Wall is one of the one of the oldest and best-preserved city walls in China. It is regarded as one of the famous landmarks of Xian.
